How long does alcohol stay in your system? That depends on several factors.

The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention says two-thirds of adults in 2018 drank alcohol. How much obviously varies, but no one wants to end the day with a DUI because they mistakenly believed they were sober when that was not the case.

According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), an abundance of factors contributes to how long alcohol stays in your system. Misunderstanding these factors makes it difficult to tell whether you’re legally safe to be behind the wheel and can lead to tragic consequences.

North America houses approximately 55,000 brown bears, 30,000 in the U.S. and 25,000 in Western Canada, as of the summer of 2022, according to the Be Bear Aware campaign. The grizzly bear, a type of brown bear, became extinct in Mexico in 1964. These numbers pale in comparison to the 600,000 black bears on the continent.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection says black bears can be found around campsites with "poorly stored food and garbage"; yet, on trails, they usually flee once they recognize a human's presence.

As of July 2022, 19 of the 50 states in the United States had legalized marijuana, with the other 31 ranging from mixed legality to full illegality, according to disa.com. States like Idaho, Wyoming and South Carolina keep weed fully illegal, with criminal charges and zero medicinal use. California, New York and Michigan have completely legalized cannabis, along with decriminalizing it and enabling medicinal use.

New and veteran users may be wondering when it’s okay to drive or take a drug test after ingesting the drug by smoking or eating.
